What does the job entail?

Under limited guidance, reviews system generated reports regarding customer accounts to determine suspicious activity. Assists in communication, investigation, and dissemination of information concerning Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). Acts as a front-line contact with both internal and external customers; serves as a technical resource involving BSA and AML issues; conducts account research, review and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Responsible for conducting quality control reviews of cases. This includes transaction testing and investigation assessments.

Analyzes data to detect any patterns of unusual activity, which results in either the filing of a suspicious activity report (SAR) or the waiving of the case.

Senior level staff may supervise other BSA staff with the day-to-day functions, aides and coaches on specific projects and write-ups on cases reviewed.

Assists other BSA Analysts and staff with case investigations and reviews case summaries. Prepares Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) for the review and signature of the BSA Manager.

Monitors production on a daily basis to meet the BSA Department deadlines. Responsible for performing special projects on an on-going basis.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree (BA, BS, etc.) in Business, Criminal Justice, or a related field required with Six (6) years of Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act experience. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Lic/Cert/Reg

Required: none required

Preferred: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
