Primary Function : Primary responsibilities are to structure credit to market (asset quality and competitiveness balanced), developing financial models and projections for term debt and transactions, negotiating credit (with Client Manager and/or Credit Products Officer involved as needed), underwriting credit, gaining credit approval, etc. The Assistant Credit Products Officer will assist with credit activities associated with Commercial Banking (Institutional Real Estate or “IRE”) relationships with aggregate debt exposure greater than $15MM. These relationships involve complex, syndicated, and highly valued credits.

IRE provides secured and unsecured financing for its clients. Property types financed on a secured basis include but are not limited to multifamily, office, retail and seniors housing. IRE is both a construction and term lender on a secured basis, working with key institutional sponsors. IRE is also a provider of unsecured credit to number of REITs and other corporate clients.

Duties and Responsibilities :

---Structure credit to market (asset quality and competitiveness balanced)

---Underwrite credit (new / renewals / modifications)

---Complete due diligence

---Gain credit approval (with Client Manager or Relationship Manager as sponsor)

---Conduct financial modeling (projections for term debt and transactions)

---Negotiate credit (with Client Manager or Relationship Manager involved as needed)

---Reviewing closing documents and ensuring proper booking of transactions

---Monitor financial statements, borrowing base, covenant compliance, exception management overdrafts and ACH approvals

---With Client Manager or Relationship Manager, perform relationship reviews to determine appropriateness and competitiveness of credit package

---Train Credit Products associates, as instructed by Credit Products Officer or Manager

---Travel as necessary


Qualifications : This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration with emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field. All candidates will preferably have some knowledge of senior debt markets and broader capital markets including credit underwriting, structuring, negotiation, syndicated/ complex credits, and cross-selling opportunities. Formal credit or commercial loan training is a plus. Candidates must possess superior verbal, written, and organizational skills. Individuals must be able to prioritize tasks demonstrating both management skills and ability to achieve communicated deadlines. High integrity and respect for confidentiality are invaluable. Excellent computer skills in Windows, understanding of business and personal financial statements, good phone and presentation skills required.

Credit Product Officer II : Individuals typically have 3-5 years of experience in IRE underwriting.

Credit Product Officer III : Individuals typically have 5-10 years of experience in IRE underwriting.

Credit Product Officer IV : Individuals typically have 10+ years of experience in IRE underwriting.
