Responsibilities

This is a multi-faceted role, partnering with multiple stakeholders from within the company, spanning our Management Committee team, Global Leadership team, partners from other lines of business at various levels, as well as vendors, community leaders and external key stakeholders.

This role will be responsible for orchestrating meetings and hosting exclusive thought leadership events, while also supporting and executing day-to-day operations under the leadership of the Chief Compliance Officer. This role will also be responsible for providing briefing support in the development of the organization's strategic plan(s), to ensure the continued successful growth and profitability of the organization.

Must be comfortable working to a deadline on multifaceted projects with many moving parts. This role will constantly strive for excellence in the briefing environment and in identifying how to improve processes and measure the effect of such improvements. The ability to troubleshoot and resolve mobile or PC issues will be highly valued, as this role will be expected to ensure the seamless operation for guests and executives alike, providing a world class environment for briefings and presentations.

This role will be expected to behave as a brand ambassador for the Chief Compliance Officer and BBVA Compass. The successful candidate should also be capable of creating reports, presentations and related materials for Compliance, and regularly help with research and documentation or presentations for the management and the wider team.

Roles in this function require a solid understanding of the organization's business operations, strategic direction and business environment, to conduct operations analyses and develop and execute the organization's strategic plan.

Strategic Planning

  • Monitors Compliance’s strategic initiatives and the organization's strategic plan(s) to ensure the continued successful growth and profitability of the organization

  • May conduct or facilitate periodic reviews of achievements and performance versus the plans

  • Coordinates input from business units to assist in facilitating agile transformation of business unit across the footprint

  • Excellent project management, communications and organizational skills

  • Superior interpersonal and relationship skills, and experience interfacing with C-level executives

  • Develops and presents executive briefings to a very high standard, as well as event planning for key strategic events (high profile customers, government and key partners)

  • Supports and coordinates Chief Compliance Officer’s schedule and calendar, internal and external presentations and speaking engagements

  • Manages monthly budget monitoring and expense reconciliation

Corporate Development

  • Develops proposals, including feasibility studies, for new project opportunities

  • Capable of becoming a key contributor to the ongoing development of our Centers of Excellence

  • Manages vendors and other stakeholders to ensure flawless management of the Center of Excellence, meetings and events.

  • Ensures all events are completed within budget

  • Works extensively with SMEs (subject matter experts) to bring technologies and products from Beta to demo, and is prepared to learn the subject to the extent of delivering a demo and answering basic questions

Organization Strategy

  • Analyzes the effectiveness of the organization and of existing business processes

  • Designs, develops and implements suitable organizational models for the best possible achievement of business objectives

  • Develops proposals for further development of the organizational structure to suit the business strategy

  • Creates reports and documentation supporting the Center of Excellence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in customer-facing roles

  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, with skill in producing spreadsheets and reports

  • Highly competent in handling ambiguity and conflict resolution associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Demonstrated excellent analytical, problem resolution and decision-making skills

  • Significant proficiency in understanding, operating, and, to some degree, troubleshooting an array of technologies – including, but not limited to, technology and software, plus basic AV equipment used for projection, sound etc.
