The BSA Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the bank’s BSA / AML Program. The incumbent must assist in ensuring Compliance with all applicable BSA/AML and OFAC rules and regulations in each business area; follow all procedures that will ensure the firm’s compliance with the applicable rules and regulations; and perform internal quality assurance as required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • The BSA Compliance Analyst will be responsible for completing various tasks related to the monitoring and surveillance program. The monitoring and surveillance program consists of all of the tasks performed by the department to ensure that all relevant rules and regulations are identified and adhered to.

  • Review of alerts generated by the FCCM system, daily OFAC review of in-process transactions, stripping testing, and customer onboarding are some of the tasks that the BSA Compliance Analyst may be responsible for, under the direction of the BSA Compliance Manager.

  • The BSA Compliance Analyst will also provide support to maintain and perform the annual BSA/AML and Sanctions/OFAC risk assessments to determine areas of additional risk or opportunities to further mitigate risks.

  • The BSA Compliance Analyst will also support the training program for the bank as needed. Additionally, the Compliance Analyst will be responsible for attending outside training and documenting such training for Internal Auditors and / or regulators.

  • The BSA Compliance Analyst will be responsible for BSA / AML and OFAC Reporting as designated by the BSA Compliance Manager. This may include preparing OFAC rejected and blocked funds reports, drafting SARs, as well as documenting cases that did not result in the filing of a SAR.

  • Must be able to identify Compliance risk and properly escalate all matters accordingly.

  • The BSA Compliance Analyst must complete all tasks within required timeframes. Failure to do so could expose the bank to serious risks. The risks to the firm in not complying with relevant rules and regulations may include fines, disciplinary actions, and/or cease and desist orders by regulators.

  • The BSA Compliance Analyst will also work on special projects and assignments as needed.



  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience in Compliance / BSA / AML.

  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation or ability to acquire within 60 days of hire.

  • Intermediate skills in Excel with knowledge of spreadsheet functionality including v-look-ups, pivot tables, charts, graphing and macros.

  • Experience in dealing with U.S. regulators.

  • Experience in dealing with Internal Auditors and I.A. methodology.

  • Must be a team player.

  • Must be able to interface with Senior Management and exhibit a high level of professionalism.

  • Must possess technical knowledge of BSA / AML, USA Patriot Act, OFAC Sanctions Programs, Know Your Customer (KYC), Foreign Correspondent Banking and all facets of SWIFT.

  • Ability to read, write and speak Spanish highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of LATAM / Spain regions highly desirable.

  • Ability to work independently or with limited supervision on highly sensitive matters.
