What does the job entail?
IFI salespeople are responsible for marketing BBVA's capabilities in FICC products to financial institutions including banks, pension funds, insurance companies, hedge funds, mutual funds, and family offices. The geographic areas of expertise include Latin America, Turkey and peripheral Europe.
Trade emerging market bonds and transact derivatives with large US and Latin American institutions.
Develop and open new clients for the IFI sales team.
Provide market feedback and trade support to other team members when necessary.
Arrange and host meetings with issuers and colleagues throughout the Americas region.
Answer detailed questions about government bond auctions and auction participating strategies.
Market new issues and arrange road show meetings.
Manage and resolve trade settlement problems.
Maintain close ties with large institutional clients.
Calculate franquicia for trades, unwind values for derivatives and relative values across multiple bond curves.
Detailed relative analysis should be provided to clients on a regular basis.
Generation of trade ideas is mandatory.
Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a fixed income sales role or an institutional sales trading capacity.
Meet credit history and criminal background requirements associated with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry registration process, to include FBI fingerprint criminal history and review of credit report.
Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
Proficiency in Bloomberg and Excel is required.
Deep knowledge of markets with some experience in Latin American securities or currencies strongly preferred.
Experience liaising with internal departments to support the negotiation of legal documentation for foreign exchange and derivatives contracts.
